Size of the network

The release notes for go-ipfs 0.4.20 state:

After AutoRelay was introduced in go-ipfs 0.4.19, the number of peers connecting through relays skyrocketed to over 120K concurrent peers.

Where does that number come from? Is there a web page or a tool that shows the state of the network?

I’m not 100% sure, but I’d guess that it’s coming from looking at the relay nodes that Protocol Labs is running – which I’d assume are currently handling the majority of relay connections.

Exactly this. We don’t actually know the size of the network (yet), we just infer as much as we can from stuff like this.
