“The mission of IPFS is to create a resilient, upgradeable, open network to preserve and grow humanity’s knowledge.”

Thanks for the recap, strangely I don’t see a single word about anonymity in all the roadmaps, including the global one

As you probably saw I have already posted/emailed in different places, see Anonymous IPFS, Filecoin or whatever protocol in fact, these are not naive thinkings, basic principles are sketched in the Convergence proposal (http://www.peersm.com/Convergence.pdf) and Peersm specs (https://github.com/Ayms/node-Tor/blob/master/README-old.md#anonymous-serverless-p2p-inside-browsers---peersm-specs), but this needs to be refreshed/updated/adapted (this is from before 2015… targeted for a specific use…)

This is very different from what the Tor network is doing and I am sure that hidding using the Tor network for IPFS is an option that nobody is considering

node-Tor techno could be embedded also inside browsers like Brave

I will not bother everybody with this but I think the anonymity topic should be added somewhere in the roadmap

This:

“The mission of IPFS is to create a resilient, upgradeable, open network to preserve and grow humanity’s knowledge.”

Is pretty good. But, you can just say:

Our Massive Transformative Purpose (MTP) is to preserve and grow humanity’s knowledge.

And get all the same goodness. It’s obvious that it has to a upgradable , open, and resilient.

MTP is a reference to the book Exponential Organizations description of an MTP.

I’d say it’s not worth the indirection or, call it, conceptual 3rd-party dependency.

Irrelevant really. Just citing my source for the insight for you. But, thanks for the reply.

.K

Thanks for including cyb in the Other section of IPFS user apps. There are actually two apps that we have built and have users =)

  • cyber - the search protocol
  • cyb - the browser app

If you would need any additional info on the second app (like a logo), let me know, will be happy to provide any info

Hey @fuckGoogle!

You can edit the IPFS Ecosystem diagram here: https://www.figma.com/file/2bVNnjoOmxh4TtID9kzqEG/IPFS-Applications-Diagram?node-id=0%3A1
