Making IPFS for the end user

This is a collection of ideas that I believe to be beneficial for applications for the end user.
Feel free to add to this list below,
if it is interesting enough, I will add it here too and make a comprehensive description and definition of a suit of applications using IPFS.

Introduction

One of the most interesting aspects
about IPFS is that you do not need a central trusted server for many applications and thus don’t need to pay those server operators in trust, data or money.

This is why my suggestions do not necessarily need a central server in order to work fine for the end user.
I see it as one of the central advantages of IPFS.

File Sharing between people

Sharing large files is a head-ache even today.
It requires experimentation with many different setup options and tech.
Many E-Mail services (still the go to for sharing files) have quite arbitrary file size limits,
which IPFS does not have.
You can share 20 GB as well as 200 GB, it will just be slower.

Thus a good implementation of human friendly file sharing can provide an essential service for the end user, whether private or business.

Personal shared File Space

Sharing data between devices is
mostly not stream lined and is using
a central server.
Using IPFS you could automatically share your files with many of your devices.
Thus sharing for example:

  • An entire separate folder
  • Multiple marked files

Conclusion

These applications can and have been implemented already to a certain extend, but
IPFS could work to both improve them and make them more secure by cutting down on centralization and using properly setup cryptography and open sourced technology.
